<title><![CDATA[Kogogin among Top Three Managers of Russia]]></title>

<p>Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, was once again included in the top three of the "Industrial Elite of Russia - Top 100 Production Managers of Russia" rating.
<p>The results of the ranking were published at www.up-pro.ru. More than 500 authoritative managers from well-known companies determined the best production managers of Russia who made the most significant contribution to the development of their businesses, their industry, the country`s economy over the past year.
<p>Last year, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ ranked third in the rating. This time, he is one place up, and now Director General of KAMAZ is second only to Sergey Chemezov, Director General of Russian Technologies State Corporation. To add to this, the top 100 also includes the name of Yuri Klochkov, First Deputy Director General – CEO of OJSC KAMAZ.

<title><![CDATA[Visiting Meeting at KAMAZ]]></title>

<p>Yesterday, within the frameworks of a visiting session on attraction of federal funds to the economy of Tatarstan, the delegation of the Russian State Duma deputies and representatives of Tatarstan ministries and departments visited KAMAZ.
<p>Accompanied by Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ and other top managers of the company, parliamentarians and administrative officials visited Automobile Plant where they saw the work of the main assembly line and a cab assembly conveyor.</p>

<p>Then the guests visited Industrial Park Master. To date, it has 179 tenants. The delegation visited several enterprises, including Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok JV. Industrial Park provides its facilities to implement various projects: production of brake blocks, lights for KAMAZ vehicles, charging and delivery of accumulators to the conveyor, production of electronic devices, metal-cutting tools. Besides Russian producers, enterprises of the following well-known foreign companies operate on the territory of KIP Master: Leoni (Germany), ERK Otomotiv and Tirsan Kardan (Turkey), Mercedes-Benz (Germany), and Fuso (Japan). Conditions created at the park help to achieve high performance, and domestic enterprises can raise their technologies and production standards to the world level operating side by side with foreign companies.
<p>After the visit to Automobile Plant and Industrial Park Master, the guests arrived at the general directorate of KAMAZ for a meeting on issues of attraction of federal funds to the economy of Tatarstan which was held by Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan.
<p>The meeting was also attended by Oleg Morozov, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s State Duma, a member of the Committee on Budget and Taxes, Rishat Abubakirov, member of Russia’s State Duma Committee on Housing Policy, Housing and Communal Services, Alfiya Kogogina, member of Russia’s State Duma Committee on Industry.

<title><![CDATA[KAMAZ-LEASING Sums Up Results of 2011]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Andrey Gladkov, Deputy General Director – Chief Financial Officer of Leasing Company KAMAZ Inc., summed up the results of the company’s activity in 2011.
<p>Last year, the company realized 3,381 vehicles, 2,968 of which were trucks. This is 12% of the total sales volume of the distribution network of OJSC KAMAZ. The net income increased 4.7 times against the previous year of 2010 and amounted to 303 million rubles. The company improved its performance due to the well-coordinated work with dealers, high-quality service, and attractive lease terms.</p>

<p>Andrey Gladkov mentioned that the main tendency on the leasing market was its steady growth and development, especially in the segment of trucks. Market growth depends only on potential lessees’ financial capacities. 20% of the fleet in Russia is 20-year-old vehicles which must be replaced. 5-7% vehicles, on the average, are replaced in Europe every year, whereas in Russia this figure is less than 2-3%.
<p>KAMAZ-LEASING Group of Companies did a great job last year to win the leading position on the market. The company signed agreements with manufacturers operating on all key markets of OJSC KAMAZ.
<p>KAMAZ-LEASING equips all vehicles with the original GLONASS navigation system which enables customers to avoid additional costs and control the leased vehicles constantly.
<p>In order to improve the operating efficiency of KAMAZ’s authorized dealers, KAMAZ-LEASING Group of Companies in 2011 organized regular trainings for managers of the dealerships. These meetings have become a good tradition of the company. The workshops were attended by representatives of all Russian federal districts. The training programs included theoretical and practical courses. The specialists of KAMAZ-LEASING told the participants about the development of the leasing market in the Russian Federation, visually demonstrated and explained competitive advantages of leasing over credit and purchasing, presented the product line of KAMAZ-LEASING, and disclosed peculiarities of its realization. After each seminar, the representatives of the dealerships were presented with certificates of KAMAZ-LEASING Group of Companies.
<p>All these measures enabled KAMAZ-LEASING Group of Companies to become one of the leading leasing companies in Russia according to the results of 2011.

<title><![CDATA[More KAMAZ NGVs for Siberia]]></title>

<p>Representatives of Sibir Industrial and Construction Concern, Novosibirsk, have arrived at KAMAZ to discuss the issues of the companies’ further cooperation, purchasing, operation and service of KAMAZ NGVs, as well as to share their positive experience of the advantageous use of gas-powered KAMAZ vehicles in Novosibirsk Oblast.
<p>During the visit, the guests saw KAMAZ’s service center, the range of KAMAZ vehicles running on methane, an area for installation of an automatic centralized lubrication system by Lincoln, and a mobile auto service center (prefabricated shed). At the area of finished products, the guests from Novosibirsk got acquainted with a next-generation product developed by KAMAZ – KAMAZ-43118-30 which will soon become another commercial vehicle running on compressed natural gas.</p>

<p>Sibir Industrial and Construction Concern and RariTEK, a distributor of OJSC KAMAZ producing gas-powered equipment, have been cooperating since 2011 when the Siberians purchased ten KAMAZ trucks running on methane. Within a short period of time, the clients from Novosibirsk realized advantages of transition to new fuel technologies. They decided to switch from diesel to gas cars after they had been using combined gas-diesel cars for several years. It turned out that it is more profitable to use KAMAZ vehicles equipped with serial gas engines running on pure methane. The use of methane enables to significantly save on the cost of cargo transportation. KAMAZ gas engines require wear-and-tear repair three times as rarely as diesel engines, which is also very profitable.
<p>Another competitive advantage of compressed natural gas is its permanent quality: methane cannot be diluted, like gasoline at small refueling stations sometimes, and it can’t be "summer" or "winter" like diesel fuel. Vehicles can be filled with methane at NGV refueling compressor stations – fuel is supplied to them through pipelines absolutely trouble-free.

<title><![CDATA[Russia’s State Duma Deputies at KAMAZ]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Today, on the 11th of May, the delegation of Russia’s State Duma deputies from the Republic of Tatarstan accompanied by Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan, has arrived at KAMAZ with a working visit.
<p>The distinguished guests were welcomed by Kirill Puzyrkov, Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ for Human Resources Management and Organizational Development, and Vasil Shayhraziev, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny. During the visit, the deputies plan to visit the automobile plant in order to see the main assembly line and a cab assembly conveyor. Then, the delegation will visit Kamsky Industrial Park Master, they will be demonstrated the work of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok Joint Venture. The guests will also visit the "KAMAZ-Autosport" center where the "KAMAZ-master" team is headquartered. They will be met by Semyon Yakubov, the manager of the team, there.
<p>Finally, a meeting will be held with Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the RT State Council, and deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at the General Directorate of KAMAZ.

<p>As it turned out, customers were very loyal to KAMAZ’s brand in 2011 – 71% of customers bought, will buy and will advise their friends to buy KAMAZ trucks. KAMAZ managed to achieve such a successful result due to high consumer properties of the whole range of vehicles series-produced by the company.
<p>Among the models which received positive feedback from customers were the KAMAZ-6520 heavy-duty truck, the KAMAZ-65117 high-sided vehicle, and the KAMAZ-65115 truck. All these vehicles are made of components produced by the world`s leading manufacturers, are equipped with new Cummins and KAMAZ diesel engines, ZF gearboxes manufactured by ZF KAMA Joint Venture, as well as restyled cabs which are far more comfortable for drivers than their older versions.
<p>According to customers, they are mainly satisfied with the following properties of KAMAZ vehicles: cross-country ability, carrying capacity, maintainability, availability of spare parts, and ability to adapt to heavy road conditions. The total index of satisfaction with OJSC KAMAZ’s products and services made 7.8 out of possible 10 scores on the average for 2011. KAMAZ’s competitors – MAZ and UralAZ – scored 6.5.
<p>KAMAZ is also the leader by such characteristics as "warranty service" and "pricing", offering its clients high-quality service and the best offer for its products in the “quality-price” ratio.
<p>Assessment of customers’ satisfaction is a "litmus test" demonstrating trends of continuous improvements, which is one of the most important principles of the quality management system.

<title><![CDATA[Trailer KAMAZ Inc. Presents New Products in Sochi]]></title>

<p>A subsidiary of KAMAZ in Stavropol – Trailer KAMAZ Inc. – participated in the 11th Construction Forum "Building Industry 2012" which took place in Sochi and gathered the leading domestic and foreign companies.
<p>A large-scale versatile exhibition was organized for the forum. Trailer KAMAZ Inc. presented several models of its trailers at the "Special Construction Equipment, Road, Tunnel" exposition. Among them were Trailer 9515 with a load capacity of 32 tons and Trailer 8538-01 with a capacity of 14 tons. Tipper trailers are designed for transportation of various construction materials on all types of roads.</p>

<p>The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sochi and Exhibition Company “Sochi-Expo CCI the City of Sochi” awarded the diploma "For Leadership in the Russian Market of Trailer and Semi-Trailer Equipment for Heavy Vehicles" to Trailer KAMAZ Inc. Also at the forum, within the frameworks of business meetings, preliminary talks were held with the heads of large construction companies which participate in the construction of Olympic facilities.

<title><![CDATA[KAMAZ Trucks for Kazakhstan]]></title>

<p>KAMAZ takes an active part in the 2nd International exhibition of weapons system and military equipment “KADEX-2012” which will be held in Kazakhstan’s capital Astana on May 2 – 6. The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Defense celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
<p>According to the status and high rank of the Kazakh exhibition, KAMAZ presented an extensive exposition of army and dual-purpose vehicles. Military experts will be interested in high-sided vehicles based on KAMAZ-43114 and KAMAZ-4326 chassis, a crew bus and a command vehicle on the KAMAZ-43114 chassis, a field kitchen on the KAMAZ-53228 chassis and KAMAZ-6560 and KAMAZ-65224 tractors for installation of special equipment. A prototype of a KAMAZ-63968 army vehicle "Typhoon", a KAMAZ-4326 racing vehicle of the KAMAZ-master team and a dynamic simulator made by Eidos will be shown at the exhibition for the first time.</p>

<p>A part of exhibits for KAMAZ’s exposition was presented by OAO KAMAZ-Engineering, a subsidiary of the Russian auto giant in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan. Established in June 2005, for seven years of its activity, the enterprise has produced over 5,000 KAMAZ trucks. This is the most successful joint venture of KAMAZ abroad. 
<p>General Director of OJSC KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin and top managers of the company plan to visit the exhibition. Distinguished guests representing law enforcement agencies are invited from Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Spain, Italy, China, Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, the Russian Federation, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, France, the Czech Republic, and other countries.
<p>The exhibition demonstrates products made by more than 200 manufacturers of specialized equipment and dual-purpose vehicles for law enforcement agencies. Against the background of a large number of participants, the exposition of KAMAZ is one of the largest ones and occupies a central place of the exhibition. The organizers of “KADEX-2012” hope that it will enable KAMAZ and KAMAZ-Engineering JV to find new partners among law enforcement agencies of the countries participating in the exhibition and to conclude contracts for delivery of military models of special equipment.

<p>The delegation of journalists from Ukraine visited KAMAZ departments and enterprises.
<p>During several days, the journalists visited the main facilities of KAMAZ auto giant. They were shown the main assembly line and a cab assembly conveyor at the automobile plant. In Kamsky Industrial Park Master, accompanied by Director General of the industrial park Maxim Steblov, they visited a joint venture of OJSC KAMAZ and Daimler – Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok. At the engine plant and CUMMINS KAMA JV, particular attention was paid to Cummins engines assembly lines, cylinder block processing lines, an engine assembly conveyor. In the Science and Technology Center the visitors were presented an exhibition of vehicles.</p>

<p>During the visit, the Ukrainian journalists visited RariTEK, OJSC KAMAZ’s distributor producing NGV equipment. The guests got acquainted with the company’s gained experience in the design and manufacture of KAMAZ NGVs. The engine of these chassis operates solely on compressed natural gas methane and corresponds to Euro 4 emmission standards. 
<p>The guests were shown several types of CNG vehicles based on KAMAZ chassis – the MST-6963-10 garbage truck, the KO-505AG vacuum machine, the NEFAZ-5299-30-31 bus, the GPA AROK dual-purpose vehicle with a crane manipulator based on the KAMAZ-43114-3861-30 all-wheel drive chassis, the KAMAZ-65116-34 bolster-type tractor, as well as the modular CNG filling station for filling KAMAZ trucks.
<p>At the end of the visit, the Ukrainian journalists met with General Director of ZAO Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ Sergey Afanasiev in the office of the general directorate.

<title><![CDATA[KAMAZ and Kogogin: Ten Years without a Pause]]></title>

<p>Ten years ago, the company’s new CEO Sergey Kogogin was introduced to the managers and employees of OJSC KAMAZ.
<p>This appointment was not unexpected. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaymiev explained why Tatarstan’s Minister of Economy and Industry was appointed KAMAZ’s CEO at that time: "He had so many constructive and unconventional ideas that we could not deny the right to Sergey to implement them in practice".</p>

<p>Kogogin had to solve the clear, then almost impossible-doing task of preserving KAMAZ and, moreover, making it a strong player in its traditional markets of sales, the company integrated into the global automotive industry.
<p>The public and KAMAZ’s general director’s colleagues very well know that steep ascent of the leader of the Russian truck industry in the first years of "Kogogin’s era" after the economic crisis at the end of the last century. It is even enough to recall that in its first five-year period from 2003 to 2007, the company’s production volumes grew steadily by 20-25 percent (by the way, it did reach 38% in 2011, there is no other automobile enterprise in Russia with such a growth rate!), and the previously accumulated debt of the company was completely restructured.
<p>Sergey Kogogin became the first general director of the auto giant who went through "his own" global economic crisis in 2008-2010 and then raised the company to its proper level.
<p>In 2011, by the annual volume of proceeds KAMAZ was ranked among the top hundred companies in the Finance-500 rating made by independent experts according to the results of the financial and economic activity of the largest companies in Russia. Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux specializing in brand consulting services once again put KAMAZ on the list of the "most valuable Russian brands". The automaker was once again named among the top exporters of Russia of the year. OJSC KAMAZ and Leasing Company KAMAZ became the winners of the Company of the Year National Award for 2011.
<p>To date, seven joint ventures established in the "Kogogin’s era” – ZF KAMA (gearboxes), CUMMINS KAMA (engines), KNORR-BREMSE KAMA (brake systems), Federal Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny (parts of the cylinder-and-piston group), Fuso KAMAZ Trucks Rus (production and sales of light Fuso Canter trucks in Russia), Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok (production and sales of Mercedes-Benz Actros and Axor heavy-duty trucks), CNH-KAMAZ Industry (production of agricultural equipment) successfully operate on the areas of KAMAZ. In September 2011, OJSC KAMAZ and Marcopolo S.A. signed an agreement to establish a joint venture for the manufacture and sales of Marcopolo buses.
<p>Finally, newly opened opportunities made it possible to update the main strategic document of KAMAZ’s development: in December 2010, the Board of Directors adopted the program of strategic development of the company for a period till 2020. Symbolic years of the "Strategy 2020" are 2015, when the company plans to produce 67,000 vehicles, and 2020, when it plans to produce up to 100,000 units per year.
