14/01/06 - Tambacounda > Dakar - 254 km - 634 km

Firdaus Kabirov was the first to drive his KAMAZ to the finish of 14th stage in Dakar. Right after him, Hans Stacey’s MAN negotiated 254 km special from Tambacounda Senegal Capital losing to Kabirov 2 min 57 sec. Andre de Azevedo came third. His TATRA finished the rally 4 min 13 sec behind the leader. Vladimir Tchaguine showed the fourth result 12 min 20 sec after Kabirov.

So in overall truck standings before penultimate stage, Russian crew of pilot Vladimir Tchaguine, navigator Semion Yakoubov and mechanic Sergey Savostine was still leading.

The last leg on the way to Dakar was a little bit longer than previous year and more complicated.
