We Can!

On Monday in January 23, 2006 Mintimer Shaimiev, President of Tatarstan Republic, received the star Dakar team.

- Today “KAMAZ-Master” is not just a sport team, it is a unique school that appeared in our Republic, - underlined the President at the start of the meeting. He noted that the whole KAMAZ team worked for the victory at the most prestigious marathon: designers, engineers, workers, pilots, navigators and mechanics applied their knowledge and skills.

- It’s a major achievement not only of KAMAZ and Tatarstan but all Russians and domestic automotive industry, - declared Mintimer Shaimiev. On behalf of all Tatarstan citizens he congratulated everyone who helped to reach such a prominent victory:

- It’s the right case when we may say that “we can!”

Mintimer Shaimiev presented to the “Lisbon-Dakar 2006” winners medals “For Valorous Labor” and offered a Cup as a gift that represents a gold leopard bearing this cup on its spine. The same gift was presented to State Heads at the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, Tatarstan Capital.

Vladimir Shvetsov, Deputy RT Prime Minister of Transport & Road Facilities, Chairman of Republic automotorsport Federation had also congratulated the team. He handed over the Cup and said it was pleasant to see KAMAZ ahead of the world largest vehicle manufacturers.

Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ Inc. congratulating the racers noticed every victory does not come easy. Not everyone is able to bear titanic difficulties people have to withstand during the marathon.

Semion Yakoubov, KAMAZ-Master team manager thanked the Republic management for support:

- Our victory is not simply a sport success but it is also a proof that KAMAZ is functioning and keeps on developing.
