KAMAZ 508 crew has again became unreachable for the rivals. At the fourth “Lisbon-Dakar 2006” special stage it left the Hollander Hans Stacey on MAN 2 min 42 sec and the truck ¹ 500 of Firdaus Kabirov 17 min 10 sec behind. The truck ¹ 514 of Sergey Reshetnikov rushed onto the 4 th place taking 29 min 5 sec behind the leader.
Tchaguine’s crew reached the maximum break off from the rest of the competitors. He left behind “Tatra” of the Czech Carel Lopraise 1 h 8 min 47 sec behind that moved to the second place and the truck of Firdaus Kabirov 1 h 18 min 41 sec behind. The crew of Firdaus Kabirov in a really stubborn struggle made its way to the group of leaders.
And perhaps nobody could have expected the unknown racer from Naberezhnye Chelny Sergey Reshetnikov after a failure at the first European stage to take the lead over 60 competitors in three days. He brought his truck to the 9 th place in fixture list of overall truck ranking. He lagged 2 h 18 min 25 sec behind the leader.
All along the stage of 3 January the main rally intrigue was developing between Vladimir Tchaguine’s truck and the MAN of Hans Stacey.
The teams of Kabirov and Reshetnikov made decisive spurt to the group of leaders.
