Iranian KAMAZ Vehicles – in Two StreamsThe second KAMAZ truck assembly line was opened at the assembly enterprise in Iran established jointly with Rakhsh Khodro Diesel Co. from Tabriz – the capital of the province Eastern Azerbaijan – on its production basis. The first line of the JV was launched last year. According to Rafail Gafeyev, “Iran” Region Director of KAMAZ Trade and Finance Company, in 2008 KAMAZ shipped to Iran almost 900 assembly sets, and from the beginning of their deliveries – a bit less than one thousand units. To date about 250 vehicles are assembled and delivered to customers. At the same time Gafeyev noted that the number of orders confirmed by advance payments which KAMAZ accepts from its customers is over thousand units. Almost the whole main range of heavy vehicles is delivered to Iran – these are KAMAZ-5460, -6460, -6520 vehicles. Assembly of the first batch of KAMAZ-53605 vehicles is launched. In August there will be shipped the first batch of assembly sets for side prime movers on KAMAZ-6520 chassis with a long base, a high cab and an engine of 360 h.p. It’s planned to deliver the first batch of assembly sets for KAMAZ-5360 chassis in September. It’s planned to ship about 1700 assembly sets for KAMAZ in 2008, approximately the same volumes are still planned for 2009. Thus, already this year Iran can become the largest foreign export market for KAMAZ. Wednesday, 30 July 2008 Articulated Lorry of New GenerationOn 24 July OOO Kama plant Transmash special equipment manufacturer (Naberezhnye Chelny) organized presentation of a rig composed of a side tractor KAMAZ-43085 with a tent carcass and a trailer 8706 with central axes on the demonstration ground of KAMAZ Inc. The truck-tractor on the chassis KAMAZ-43085 with a wheel arrangement 4x2 is equally applicable for interurban traffic, as well as for servicing enterprises and organizations inside population aggregates. For the use of the truck and trailer in long hauls the cab of KAMAZ is equipped with a berth. The prime mover is equipped with an engine Cummins ISBe 275 30 that splendidly showed its advantage on Russian roads. The dimensions and front and back axle loads of the tractor and trailer rig make it possible to use it in all Russian regions and worldwide without limitations. KAMAZ-43085 was acknowledged the best special vehicle of the exhibition MIMS-2005 not for nothing. In comparison with its competitors it has got a range of unquestionable advantages:
The trailer produced by the specialists of OOO Kama plant Transmash is designed in accordance with GOST R 52281-2004. Able to transport over 10 t of loads, equipped with an easy-to-use loading and unloading system, this trailer is a real godsend for customers. Its conventional suspension on trailing elastic arms with air bellows and telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers showed its advantage on all kinds of pavement. The landing gear of a telescopic type with a reducer enables to maintain force not exceeding 400 H (40 kilogram-force) on the actuator of the rise-and-fall mechanism. There is also an antilock brake system (ABS) on the trailer. Installation of a socket made according to ISO 7638 is provided for connection of the ABS of the trailer to the ABS of the vehicle. Wednesday, 30 July 2008 Next BirthdayThe Bashkir automobile service center of KAMAZ celebrated 30 years on 24 July. It’s hard to believe but the enterprise was in a bad state four years ago. From 1998 till 2004 it didn’t actually function. Thanks to support of the KAMAZ management, the Chelny specialists who came to set the automobile center back on its feet managed to put life into the enterprise on the verge of bankruptcy. To date one of the oldest outposts of the company is among the group of dealers increasing sales volume year in year out. During the last two years the sales volume doubled. In 2006 the total sum of vehicle sales made up RUB 125 million, and already 529 million in 2007. The spare parts sales volume grew from RUB 54 million in 2006 to RUB 92 million in 2007, the volume of services – from RUB 5 million to RUB 26.6 million. In August 2007 the Bashkir automobile center became the KAMAZ monobrand dealer. It was necessary to prove that the enterprise is a full-fledged trade and service complex in order to receive this title guaranteeing preferential terms of training for the service personnel, providing promotional products and giving priority by assignment of trade territories. The statistics show that for 4 years the KAMAZ Bashkir automobile center not only recovered its old clients’ confidence, but also attracted new customers. Their number is growing from year to year. Tuesday, 29 July 2008 New Director General of KAMAZ-EngineeringIldus Rizvanov was elected Director General of AO KAMAZ-Engineering (the Republic of Kazakhstan) at the board meeting of this enterprise. Ildus Rizvanov is a young but already experienced manager who knows production and management of KAMAZ enterprises well. And the activity of the enterprise as well as the development of the Kazakhstan-KAMAZ consortium will benefit from his election. KAMAZ-Engineering is one of the projects developed within the frames of this international consortium which was created 5 years ago. Its enterprises are involved in financing and practical realization of projects in the field of automobile, bus and tractor construction within the frames of the Mechanical Engineering Development Program in the Republic of Kazakhstan. AO NK Kazakhstan-Engineering acted as the founder of the JV from the Kazakh side. According to Sergey Kogoghin, the Republic of Kazakhstan attracts first of all with its stability, serious economic growth and as a result – with demand for modern automotive equipment. In 2007 KAMAZ-Engineering made marketable products more than for 12 billion tenge that is almost twice as much as the corresponding performance in 2006. Reference: Ildus F. Rizvanov was born in 1972 in the Menzelinsk region of Tatarstan. In 1994 he graduated from Kama Polytechnic Institute (currently – INEKA) with the specialty “Hydraulic machines, hydraulic drives and hydropneumatics”. He started his labor activity at KAMAZ in the same year as a design engineer of the energetics and equipment center. In 1995 he became a leading expert in the KAMAZ Trade Company. After the KAMAZ Trade and Finance Company had been established he headed one of its departments. In July 2002 Ildus Rizvanov was appointed Director of the Region “Kazakhstan” of the KAMAZ Foreign Trade Company. Before he was appointed Director of AO KAMAZ-Engineering he had headed the KAMAZ representative office in Astana. Monday, 28 July 2008 “G8” at KISMSeven large partners of KAMAZinstrumentspetsmash (KISM) held the third traditional conference on instrument and equipment deliveries in Naberezhnye Chelny. The managers and specialists of the first KAMAZ plant met with their partners. This time “Group of Eight”, as the partners name themselves, also demonstrated the common approach to solving the main problem – the necessity of further development of mutually beneficial relations to increase competitiveness of KAMAZ and its partners on the market. Full responsibility for supply of modern, more productive and quality equipment and tools for the whole KAMAZ rests with the technical director’s block of KAMAZ and its main part – OAO KISM. Thanks to successful cooperation with firm-suppliers, downtime of equipment because of shortage of tools at KAMAZ considerably decreased and unit costs of tools were cut down as well. In 2008 KAMAZ plans to save RUB 25 million due to well-coordinated work in this area. The suppliers noted that it’s profitable to work with KAMAZ: annually the enterprise increases production volume and rate. “The next stage of cooperation with KAMAZ is implementation of new advanced equipment, – Aleksandr Khramov, Director of Khaltek firm (Ulyanovsk) said. – We will introduce new machines at KAMAZ. They will be able to replace up to 15-20 units of analogous, but already old equipment”. According to the results of 2007 the company Khaltek was acknowledged the most successful supplier of KAMAZ in “Group of Eight. This firm received the first class award at the conference. The Sweden firm Sanvik – the world leader in tools production – is on the second place. The Chelny firm OOO TD RosInstrument supplying cutting tools of American production, as well as hand and pneumatic tools from Sweden is among the top three leaders. Tuesday, 22 July 2008 Metallurgists’ HolidayThis July KAMAZ metallurgists celebrated their traditional holiday. Every year in the mid of July the staff of OAO KAMAZ-Metallurgy celebrates two holidays at once – the Day of Enterprise and the Day of Metallurgist. This year the forge plant and the foundry are 37. The representatives of Russian Register, the audit firm from Saint-Petersburg, presented the enterprise certificates of conformity of its labor protection and security management system, and also of ecological management system to the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards. Tuesday, 22 July 2008 KAMAZ for Ministry of DefenseThe new line of special trucks of KAMAZ Inc. is of great interest to the Armed Forces of Russia. Igor Sevastyanov, Deputy Director General of Rosoboronexport, affirmed this fact. In particular, he mentioned an oil and fuel-servicing truck of “Mustang” series which has high performance and off-road capability. This automobile is called-for by the Russian army, it has already passed state tests, and now the issue of its production financing is being decided. The official stated: “We hope that as soon as a special truck is added to our armory it will enter the international market as well”. According to Sevastyanov, a KAMAZ armored vehicle created on the basis of an all-wheel drive chassis is obviously of interest to foreign customers too. Monday, 21 July 2008 KAMAZ Helps both in City and on HighwayOn 17 July KAMAZ Inc. presented new models of special equipment on KAMAZ chassis. Presentation was organized on initiative of the special equipment manufacturer OOO Chaika-NN (Nizhny Novgorod). Three automobile models were demonstrated for specialists. A wrecker on the chassis of KAMAZ-4308 with a crane-manipulator Amco Veba and a horizontal platform of a new type immediately attracted attention. This vehicle is designed for towaway of cars in cities. The crane-manipulator is equipped with a hydraulic rotator and a certified crossmember which enables to regulate the position of the towed vehicle regardless of its center of gravity. According to the representatives of OOO Chaika-NN, the previous modification of this tow truck proved to be good on the streets of Russia, in particular – of Nizhny Novgorod. The new wrecker is created in accordance with the requirements of the administration of Moscow where it will be tested. The specialists grew no less interested in a dump truck KAMAZ-43253 with a crane-manipulator Amco-Veba and a clamp hook. This three-way tipper is perfect for the municipal services of the Russian cities. The vehicle enables to execute handling of all kinds of cargo successfully without extra equipment and personnel. The carrying capacity of the vehicle is 7.3 t and the boom-out of the crane-manipulator up to 7, 12 m makes the spectrum of application of this kind of equipment rather wide. A tow truck with a partial loading on the chassis of KAMAZ-65224 is worth mentioning. This vehicle is meant for towing away heavy haulers, buses, trailers and semitrailers. The basic element of the construction is a telescopic attachment with the help of which the towed vehicle is picked up at the bottom and the hooked part is raised for further transportation. Such a wrecker is indispensable on the federal and regional highways, especially by towing away vehicles the front part of which is seriously deformed. It should be noted that all kinds of special equipment on the basis of KAMAZ vehicles are always in request. Monday, 21 July 2008 Jubilee of Remarkable TeamOn 17 July KAMAZ celebrated the twentieth birthday of the great KAMAZ-master team. In autumn 1988 two crews on production trucks KAMAZ-4310 appeared on the starting line of the European rally Elch in the vicinity of the Polish city Vrotslav. So the Chelny racing drivers’ team started to storm the sports Olympus. And its history begins in summer 1988 when Semyon Yakubov – Director of the KAMAZ R&D Center – formed the first backbone of the team, and training for the debut on the international scene started. That start on the rally in Poland brought the team “silver”. After that there were many successful performances at the most prestigious international competitions. They won seven times at Dakar alone – the most prestigious and significant marathon rally in the world auto racing. The enterprise itself and KAMAZ vehicles would be quite different without the racing drivers’ team. And, perhaps, off-road rally-raids – this ranking high all over the world and most prestigious kind of auto racing – wouldn’t be so developed and popular in Russia. Fully formed of KAMAZ sportsmen, the KAMAZ-master team – is the only Russian factory team which defends our country’s honour and prestige on the international sports scene so successfully and brightly. As Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with the team, it has been the national Russian team for a long time. It includes five World Cup champions, eight Masters of Sports of the international class, five Honoured Masters of Sports. This is the most “star” team composition for the whole history of the Russian auto racing. Monday, 21 July 2008 Gold of “Mustang“![]() By tradition KAMAZ successfully participated in VI International Russian Exhibition of Armament (Russian Expo Arms-2008) which closed in Nizhny Tagil. The exhibition took place on the territory of Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metal Testing on the proving ground of which various kinds of warlike equipment were tested. 3 vehicles of the “Mustang” family – KAMAZ-6350 (8x8), KAMAZ-43502 (4x4), a side vehicle KAMAZ-5350 (6x6), and also multipurpose vehicles – a side prime mover KAMAZ-6560 (8x8) and a four-wheel drive vehicle KAMAZ-4326 (4x4) – represented KAMAZ at Russian Expo Arms-2008. About hundred specialists from foreign military departments, employees of foreign embassies, official delegations specially came to the event to see the demonstrated products. As it was planned, the show of defense technology and armament on the stand was accompanied by their testing and demonstration of technical and tactical feasibilities (the so-called “dynamics”). Especially the audience liked experienced KAMAZ test drivers’ striking demonstrative performance. “Mustang” vehicles flawlessly got over all artificial obstacles in a group performance (a “mausoleum”, a ditch 2.5 m wide, stairs, vertical walls, water obstacles, etc.) having coped even with tank obstacles.
KAMAZ was represented in a single performance by a famous racer, a member of KAMAZ-master team, the winner of the World’s Cup of off-road rallies Eduard Nikolayev on KAMAZ-4911 “Extreme”. Famous KAMAZ “jumps” and “flights” looked especially spectacular. As a result, KAMAZ became the only “twice” winner of Russian Expo Arms-2008 having received two gold medals – for active participation in the exhibition, competent organization and demonstration.
The KAMAZ exposition attracted a close attention of the members of foreign delegations. The representatives of Venezuela, Ghana and Congo showed a special interest in “Mustang” vehicles. Moiz Kabaku Muchail – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic Congo in the RF – who was at the exhibition for the first time said: “Our army needs all kinds of equipment, but we grew interested in KAMAZ most of all”. Friday, 18 July 2008 Always Profitable KAMAZOn 11 July in Naberezhnye Chelny OOO Energotrans – the main operator on the market of auto transport services for OAO Tatenergo – leased 30 KAMAZ vehicles. Yury Klochkov – Deputy Director General of KAMAZ Inc., CEO – assessed the concluded contract. He noted that Tatenergo and KAMAZ are important not only for Naberezhnye Chelny. They are the basis of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. By the way, they work in close liaison with each other: KAMAZ receives energy resources from Tatenergo and, in its turn, produces vehicles which help power engineering specialists in their work. Rinat Garafeyev – Director of Energotrans – explained why they had chosen the KAMAZ equipment. “We have got a step-by-step program of fleet renewal, but when the enterprise is pressed for money we have to use such a financial mechanism as leasing, – he noted. – A wide model range of vehicles produced by the company impresses me as a purchaser. New vehicles meet all requirements of the market. Besides, we gained wide experience in operation and servicing KAMAZ vehicles”. According to Garafeyev, the enterprise continues renewal of its fleet, and if their work is profitable this year new purchase contracts will be concluded with KAMAZ. Alfiya Garifullina – Director General of OAO KAMAZ Leasing Company – went on with the subject of cooperation with partners in her speech: – I’m genuinely glad that KAMAZ Leasing Company continues cooperation with Tatenergo which started in 2003. We never doubted reliability of this enterprise. I think that Tatenergo, KAMAZ and KAMAZ Leasing Company all together will make many good vehicles the drivers will be happy to drive. Tuesday, 15 July 2008 All the Best to ArmyOn these days KAMAZ demonstrates its most perfect military vehicles at VI International Russian Exhibition of Armament (Russian Expo Arms-2008) which takes place in Nizhny Tagil. 5 KAMAZ vehicles ranked with 200 Russian models of armament and defense technology, including battle planes Su-24 and Su-27, helicopters Mi-24 and Mi-35, up-to-date models of armored equipment and anti-aircraft rocket complexes, and hundreds of exhibits of other countries on the ground “Staratel”. Like at the previous exhibitions in the Urals, the show of defense technology on the stand is accompanied with its testing and demonstration of technical and tactical abilities. A side prime mover KAMAZ-6560 (8x8) of 20 tonnes payload equipped with an engine KAMAZ-740.35-400 of 400 h.p. stands out against the background of the exhibited models of KAMAZ – the regular participant of this largest military exhibition in Russia. It can get over a tank ditch up to 2 meters wide and a ford up to 1.8 meters deep. An anti-aircraft/anti-missile complex “Pantsyr-S1” is mounted on the chassis of this vehicle. An eight-wheel representative of the “Mustang” family – a vehicle KAMAZ-6350 (8x8) is generally recognized. The exhibited model has a cab with hidden armoring of the 5th defense class. Experience of fighting actions and counter terrorist operations in hot spots showed a pressing need for vehicles with protection of a crew, transported cargo and a vehicle itself from small arms, splinters and mines. One of the most promising trucks of the company is KAMAZ-43502 (4x4). This is the easiest and most maneuverable representative of the family of army vehicles “Mustang”. It can clime a 60% slope, make up to 100 km/h and also force a crossing over water obstacles with a fordable depth up to 1.75 m. A four-wheel drive vehicle KAMAZ-4326 (4x4) is also indispensable for extreme conditions. It is designed for transportation of special purpose and urgent delivery of cargo to hard-to-reach areas on earth roads and broken country. It is operated in the climatic zones with the air temperature from –30° to +50 °Ñ. A side vehicle KAMAZ-5350 (6x6) demonstrated in Nizhny Tagil – the basic one for six-wheelers in the “Mustang” family – is meant for personnel carriage, transportation of different cargoes and trailing systems on all kinds of roads and countries. The chassis of this vehicle is one of the most widely used ones for mounting of different armament and defense equipment. The visitors of the exhibition could also see a diesel-generator set AD 100S-T400-1RPM 14HL in a bonnet version – one of the most perfect models of this kind of power equipment. A specially developed fixed engine ensures low fuel consummation and low noise. In addition, it is smaller than its Russian analogues by weight and dimensions. A control system on the up-to-date electronic base makes the installation easy to operate. KAMAZ continues developments in the sphere of improvement of military and multipurpose vehicles and helps the automobile fleet of the RF Armed Forces to get the up-to-date equipment and an opportunity to lose the widest range of urgent and special tasks. Monday, 14 July 2008 Pirelli Tires on KAMAZ VehiclesThe Italian group of companies Pirelli & C. SpA and the company “Russian Technologies” agreed to establish a joint venture on production and realization of automobile tires in which KAMAZ will also participate. Most likely, the new enterprise will be located in the special economic zone “Alabuga”. The new plant will produce tires for cars and trucks. According to the assessment of the analytical center “Avtostart”, the annual capacity of the primary market of tires for all kinds of vehicles in Russia in 2007 made 9.5 million units. Sales of new tires on the secondary market exceeded 50 million. Monday, 14 July 2008 Appointed New Chairman of KAMAZ BDSergey Chemezov, Director General of State Corporation “Russian Technologies” is elected Chairman of KAMAZ Board of Directors. It should be recalled that the Annual KAMAZ Shareholders’ Meeting on the results of 2007 was held not long ago. The shareholders elected members of KAMAZ Board of Directors. Chemezov’s candidature for the post of Chairman of Board of Directors was endorsed by the RF government. Throughout the last seven years Sergey Chemezov has been a member of KAMAZ Board of Directors. This year he had every reason to head the Board having succeeded Viktor Khristenko, Minister of Industry and Commerce. Chemezov was elected on the threshold of the RF President’s executive order “About property contribution” of Russia to the capital of “Russian Technologies”, in the present case – 37.8% of shares of the auto manufacturer which belong to the state. Monday, 14 July 2008 Not Yet Equator…For the first half-year of 2008 the enterprises of KAMAZ Group shipped for their customers marketable products for RUB 47 billion 648 million (+10.9% to January-June of 2007 in comparable prices). In addition, there were rendered services for RUB 2 billion 742 million. There were realized 20444 trucks via the dealer network and direct deliveries on the home market (+15.2% to January-June 2007). Foreign customers received 7423 vehicles (+14.7%). There were modernized 830 KAMAZ vehicles. There were produced 1620 assembly sets for foreign assembly enterprises. For six months 2280 units of the basic production – trucks, buses and trailer equipment – were leased or delivered with payment by installments. This is by 36.9% more than for the same period of 2007. KAMAZ Group leased 536 NEFAZ buses on the basis of the special KAMAZ chassis. The largest KAMAZ subsidiaries of a united technological cycle outside Tatarstan solidly improved production and realization volumes as compared to 2007:
The mid-year by traditional calendar came. And we look into the future when 12 calendar months are over. And the production equator of the year will be reached later, as experience of the latest 5-6 years has shown. The peak of automobile and other marketable products output comes only in August-September, and 25% excess of the first half-year results is observed in the second half-year. This is confirmed by the company’s statistics. Annually, beginning from 2004, KAMAZ Group has been increasing automobile production by 9-11 thousand units, and marketable product output – by 15-30%. Preproduction and launching the production of new models for complete satisfaction of steadily growing demand on the market is becoming more intensive. Besides, industrial and technological problems connected with transfer to production of equipment with Euro-3 engines fell on the first half-year. That’s why the mentioned above “seasonal prevalence” stood fast this year too. Thursday, 10 July 2008 Trade and Service Center for TurkmenistanOn 5 July an educational, trade and service complex (ETSC) KAMAZ was opened in the capital of Turkmenistan – Ashkhabad. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, President of the RF Dmitry Medvedev, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiyev, Director General of KAMAZ Inc. Sergey Kogoghin participated in the opening ceremony. This complex at the cost of 7 million dollars was erected by Turkmen builders by order and for the means of KAMAZ. The service center is located on the territory of 1.6 hectares. The overall area of the buildings is 6 thousand square meters half of which are occupied with production objects and warehouses. ETSC is meant for complex service of 1000 KAMAZ vehicles per year. The representative office of KAMAZ in Turkmenistan opened in 2008 has already moved to the office building of the complex. Besides, ETSC will become an educational center for specialists of other trade and service centers which are being built in Turkmenistan. According to KAMAZ Foreign Trade Company, 6850 KAMAZ vehicles operate in Turkmenistan. And a fleet of trucks and buses of all classes includes 32200 units. The republic is one of the top three leaders among CIS countries by volumes of purchasing of KAMAZ equipment. In January 2008 there was signed an agreement with the Government of Turkmenistan on delivery of 2.5 thousand KAMAZ vehicles to the country. It is being successfully realized. During half a year there were concluded contracts on shipment of 1207 vehicles. 1125 of them have already been shipped to customers, and, besides, 190 KAMAZ vehicles have been delivered according to 2007 contracts. Thus, for the first 6 months of the year the Turkmen customers of the auto giant received 1315 vehicles and spare parts – that is 5 times as many as for the same period of 2007. In July KAMAZ will deliver 212 vehicles more to Turkmenistan. Contracts on delivery of 1167 vehicles more are in process of signing now. Within the frames of the state program of economic growth till 2020 Turkmenistan realizes large-scale investment projects in which KAMAZ trucks are engaged. They support high dynamics of development of the basic industries: oil and gas processing, transport, construction, textile industry, agriculture. The main customers of KAMAZ are Turkmenneftegaz, Turkmengaz, Turkmengeologia, Turkmenneftegazstroy, Ministry of Automobile Transport and Roads, Ministry of Water Industry, Municipal Union, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Defence, and also – foreign oil and gas processing and construction companies. The opening of the new educational, trade and service complex KAMAZ will provide Turkmen customers with high-level service, accurate supply of spare parts, high-qualified staff repairing and servicing KAMAZ equipment. Tuesday, 08 July 2008 Saxon Technologists at KAMAZOn 2 July the delegation of the Federal Land of Saxony, Germany, arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny with a business trip. The representatives of Saxon companies came to participate in the technological forum organized by KAMAZ – “Production of dies and molds for automotive industry of Russia”. The guests visited the automobile and frame-and-stamping plants. The technological forum was held on 4 July. The Saxon companies – the potential partners of the Russian auto giant – made their presentations at the forum. The performance of the KAMAZ enterprises can serve as an example of the Russian manufacturers’ achievements. It is supposed that the management of KAMAZ Inc. and the representatives of the Saxon firms will later hold negotiations about cooperation. Tuesday, 08 July 2008 Best for Ninth TimeFor the ninth time the RF Ministry of Economy and Commerce announces that KAMAZ is “Best Exporter of Russia in Automobile Building”. According to the results of 2007 KAMAZ receives this title for the ninth consecutive time, beginning with 1999. 8 years ago the first such success was achieved thanks to almost thousand exported trucks (this is the seventh part of 13.2 thousand units – the whole output in 1999). And in 2007 foreign customers received 13.4 thousand vehicles that is 26% of the whole sales volume. The participants of the exporters’ contest were assessed by 4 nominations in 24 industries: “Best Exporter of Industry”, “Most Dynamically Developing Russian Exporter”, “Best Russian Exporter to CIS Countries” and “For Assistance in Export Advancement”. A tight technological and commercial connection with the mother company enabled OAO NEFAZ – the KAMAZ subsidiary in Neftekamsk – to start winning too. The plant producing tank trucks, dumpers, passenger buses on the KAMAZ chassis, and also – trailers, semitrailers and other automotive and agricultural production, took the title “Best Exporter to CIS Countries” in the field “Automobile Building” two years running. It is worth mentioning that 86% of production of KAMAZ Group is delivered exactly to CIS countries. And NEFAZ delivers its production to 8 former Soviet republics, and also – to North Korea and Vietnam. During 2007 the export volume of the Neftekamsky auto plant increased by 35%. Tuesday, 08 July 2008 First Production of JVA test batch of front and back brakes for KAMAZ vehicles and NEFAZ buses was assembled at JV “KNORR-BREMSE KAMA” and transported to KAMAZ. In accordance with the investment project of the joint venture, there should be produced drum and disc brakes, torsional vibration dampers, automatic control levers for drum brakes at the premises of KAMAZ. The investments to the equipment will make up EUR 25 million. Within 3 years its premises will be increased to 14 thousand sq. m. At the same time the range of produced auto components will be broadened. The production volumes of each product are hundreds of thousands units. At the very beginning KAMAZ will be the main customer of the JV with 70% orders, but the enterprise will gradually increase sales on the Russian market as well. JV KNORR-BREMSE KAMA is the third functioning enterprise in Naberezhnye Chelny with participation of KAMAZ and the leading world auto component producers. OOO ZF KAMA was established in 2005, and OOO CUMMINS KAMA was created in 2006. Cooperating with the leading producers KAMAZ is integrated in the world automobile production. It should be recalled that on 10 March 2008 there was signed an agreement on creation of another JV, this time – with Federal Mogul Corporation (USA) to produce piston assemblies. Tuesday, 08 July 2008 KAMAZ: Sakhalin is No More “Outskirts”!The Days of KAMAZ Inc. on Sakhalin passed from 3 to 5 July in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk where the first exhibition of KAMAZ heavy vehicles in the history of the island was held. The Days of KAMAZ was not simply a chain of events connected with one topic. The KAMAZ organizers’ aim was to acquaint the management of the Sakhalin region administration and potential partners with new, promising developments of the company in the sphere of special equipment. The KAMAZ delegation was headed by Ilfas Gatiyatulin, Director General of OAO KAMAZ Trade and Finance Company (TFC). They visited the premises of the official dealer of KAMAZ Inc. – OOO Sakhalin-Zapchastservis and the KAMAZ service center. The representatives of the Sakhalin region and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk administration participated in the opening ceremony of the KAMAZ exhibition. Despite traditions, the symbol of exhibition opening was not cutting a symbolic ribbon, but awarding the best professional KAMAZ drivers of the region. Ilfas Gatiyatulin presented them with prizes. On 4 July there took place the conference “The Days of KAMAZ on Sakhalin where the managers of the largest regional enterprises participated. They learned about the latest models of the leader of the Russian automobile production, about attractive financial schemes of purchasing of automobile equipment, including Trade-In – exchange of old KAMAZ vehicles for new ones. It should be noted that the region has lately grown interested in production of KAMAZ Inc. greatly. It is proved by the fact that the Sakhalin region received more new KAMAZ vehicles during the first 6 months of 2008 than for the whole last year. Sakhalin is no more outskirts if it’s developing and entering the Russian economic and information space. KAMAZ Inc. as the largest Russian truck producer cannot but take a part in strengthening the economy of this region of the Russian Federation with rich history and numerous talents. The next batch of KAMAZ equipment and production of its subsidiaries will be delivered to the island according to the contracts concluded in July. In particular, it includes 22 low-entrance NEFAZ buses with KAMAZ engines. Also, the island will receive municipal vehicles on KAMAZ chassis: garbage trucks, vacuum and combined road vehicles. Friday, 04 July 2008 KAMAZ for ChernozemyeKAMAZ will participate in the Russian Field Days-2008 which will be held from 3 to 9 July in Belgorod. Traditionally the Days are held annually in different regions of the Russian Central Chernozemye. This time they will gather over 250 participants from Russia and other countries. KAMAZ presents a range of models intended for an agrarian sector. First of all, this is a unique tractor KAMAZ T-215 the analogs of which do not exist in the country. Fitted with an IVECO engine of 220 h.p., this 7-tonne tractor is designed for operation under the most difficult conditions. KAMAZ T-215 alone is able to substitute a tractor fleet of several types of vehicles. A dumper KAMAZ-45395 on the chassis 65115-1041 which recently entered the market won the recognition as well. It can transport up to 14.5 t of cargo and, with two variants of unloading – side and rear one, undoubtedly, it will find a wide application in agriculture. Specific features of a dump truck KAMAZ-43253 with three-way tipping and a crane-manipulator AMCO VEBA make it indispensable both by transportation of freight and under conditions of farm building. Application of such a vehicle in agriculture will save labour resources to a considerable extent and open up possibilities for agricultural workers. A generator set AD 100S-T400-1RPM54HL showed itself to a good advantage too. Efficiency, versatility and unpretentiousness enabled it to take place on the list of the most called-for generators with a wide application sphere to date. Effective noise insulation and control systems on the newest electronic basis are worth mentioning. It will be recalled that this year KAMAZ has already participated at one of Belgorod exhibitions. At Belagro-2008 there were demonstrated a dumper KAMAZ-65116 and a medium tonnage vehicle KAMAZ-4308-H3. The KAMAZ trucks attracted a heightened interest of the attendees of the exhibition.
