KAMAZ’s Anniversary
On 16 February it was 34 years since the day when the first KAMAZ vehicle went off the mother assembly conveyor of the Kama automobile plant.

The traditional Enterprise’s Day was timed to this event at the automobile plant of OJSC KAMAZ. It was celebrated by the company’s workers, representatives of their labour union and top managers: Yury Klochkov, First Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ – CEO, Kirill Puzyrkov, Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ of Personnel Management and Organizational Development, Glyuza Imanova, Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ of Economy and Finance, Ildar Shamilov, Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ of Security, Ildus Bayanov, Director of the automobile plant, Gumer Nuretdinov, Chairman of KAMAZ’s labour union committee. The corporation celebrated its anniversary producing vehicles of the new generation for the Russian and foreign markets. These vehicles are as before familiar, but with absolutely different components and technical characteristics as compared with the first heavy trucks.
Over the last 34 years KAMAZ produced more than 1 million 900 thousand vehicles. Firstly the production association had only 4 models in its arsenal. But at that time even this was enough for the Russian truck industry to advance within one decade.
Today’s KAMAZ is the company integrated into the global automotive industry and producing a very wide range of equipment. These are trucks of more than 30 principal models and over 400 modifications and versions, diesel and gas engines, spare parts and vehicle components, tools, accessories and diversification products.
The current KAMAZ vehicles are a product of international division of labour. KAMAZ vehicles are state-of-the-art due to KAMAZ designers’ new developments and vehicle components from the leading foreign producers. With four of them the following Joint Ventures were established: ZF KAMA (gearboxes), CUMMINS KAMA (engines), KNORR-BREMSE KAMA (brake systems), Federal Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny (details of a cylinder and piston group).
KAMAZ designers continue developing KAMAZ so that they should correspond with modern quality standards. Thus, restyled vehicles with highly comfortable cabs of the latest pattern meeting the European standards are already on sale.
