AUTO-Consulting Information and Analytical Group informs that the company took 54.9% in the segment of trucks with GVW of over 16 tonnes, according to the results for a period from the beginning of 2010. OJSC KAMAZ – Time-Proved!
Today it is 20 years since Joint Stock Company KAMAZ was established.
It was on August 23, 1990 when the City Council of People’s Deputies of Naberezhnye Chelny issued Certificate No. 1 of registration of Joint Stock Company KAMAZ (JSC KAMAZ) to State Production Association KamAZ. Since that day the company has been self-sufficient.
Meanwhile, KAMAZ became the first large denationalized enterprise not only in Naberezhnye Chelny, but in the whole former USSR. The party-and-state decision to reform PA KamAZ into JSC KAMAZ was made in June 1990.
In 1996, in accordance with the RF Law “On Joint Stock Companies”, the company acquired its current name – Open Joint Stock Company KAMAZ (OJSC KAMAZ). Later, in 1998, most of plants and large departments of KAMAZ’s single technological cycle were also turned into joint stock companies and received the status of the company’s subsidiaries (OJSC, CJSC or LLC).
So, OJSC KAMAZ formed its group which to date includes over 150 organizations located in Russia, the CIS countries and far abroad. In the 21st century the company has become international: now 7 joint ventures with the participation of foreign capital function on its production base.

On KAMAZ in the Netherlands
On 22 August, Vladimir Chaguin, pilot of the KAMAZ-master team, sixfold winner of Dakar rally raids, will participate on his racing KAMAZ in the Bavaria City Racing show in Rotterdam.
Bavaria City Racing traditional shows where Formula 1 pilots and truck racers participate have been held in the Netherlands since 2005. They are by right named one of the country’s largest sporting events.
– I took part in a similar show in Moscow already twice, – Vladimir said before his departure for the country of tulips. – And both times these remarkable performances made the best impressions on me. They gave many Russian fans of auto racing a chance to see the most high-powered and interesting vehicles in the world. This year, in spite of the heat, the great sporting event gathered a lot of spectators. It was unusual to meet Gerard de Rooy not at the rally, but here in the homeland, on the laps around the Kremlin. I think that the audience was pleased. So, I accepted Gerard’s offer to participate in the show in Rotterdam with pleasure.

In the course of the first world championship for fire and rescue sport among youths held in Kazan from 5 to 10 August 2010, KAMAZ special equipment received high appraisal from the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
One of the main exhibits of KAMAZ’s exposition was AC 8000 fire-fighting vehicle on dedicated KAMAZ-65225-63 chassis with TZA-Magirus cistern (NFL/AC 8000 model) with a water tank for 7,500 litres and a foam tank for 500 litres.
Also the visitors could see three kinds of fire-extinguishing tankers with different performance characteristics enabling to solve the broadest spectrum of tasks. First of all, this is AC-3,0-40 tank truck on KAMAZ-4308 chassis equipped with Cummins engine and intended for transportation of fire-fighting teams, emergency, rescue, fire-fighting and lighting equipment, and also fire-fighting agents. The other two presented tank trucks on KAMAZ-43253 chassis (4x2): AC-4,5-40 and AC-3,2-40/4 have a good reputation of a fire-fighting vehicle with balanced characteristics.
Specialists highly appraised KAMAZ equipment meant for transportation of fire-fighting and rescue teams, special equipment and tools, communication and lighting facilities, and equipment for protection of EMERCOM’s personnel to the sites of fire or emergency: 150VR model of TM-12 mobile ladder (on KAMAZ-43118 chassis) and 130VR model of AL-52 aerial ladder on KAMAZ-65201 chassis (8x4).
KAMAZ also presented PPP-32 foam delivery device on KAMAZ-53228 chassis (6x6) meant for delivery of water or mechanical foam in tanks with a volume up to 20,000 cubic meters at process installations of the oil, oil-refining, petrochemical industry with a height up to 60m, and also in industrial and residential buildings and structures.

KAMAZ for Firemen
In the course of the 1st world championship for fire and rescue sport among youths which will be held at the stadium “Trudovye Rezervy” in Kazan from 5 to 10 August, the participants and audience will be able to see modern fire-fighting equipment on KAMAZ chassis.
AC 8000 fire-engine on dedicated KAMAZ-65225-63 chassis with TZA-Magirus cistern (NFL/AC 8000) with a water tank for 7500 litres and a foam tank for 500 litres will be of interest to those present. This is the last word in fire-fighting automobile industry.
KAMAZ’s fire-fighting truck tankers of various brands are intended for transportation of fire-fighting teams, emergency, rescue, fire-fighting and lighting equipment, and also fire-fighting agents. Truck tankers of the following brands will be presented at the exhibition for the 1st world championship for fire and rescue sport: AC-3,0-40 on KAMAZ-4308 chassis, AC-4,5-40 on KAMAZ-43253 chassis, AC-3,2-40/4 on KAMAZ-43253 chassis (4x2). These models have specifications important for modern fire-fighting equipment, but difficult to combine and balance: they are cross-country, handy, space-saving, high-capacity, heavy-payload, and, besides, easy-to-operate and serviceable.
TM-12 mobile ladder (150VR) on KAMAZ-43118 chassis stands out against a background of other exhibits. It helps to evacuate people from buildings and structures, carry out wrecking at a height up to 12m above ground level, lay fire hose lines to the same height omitting flights of stares.
PPP-32 foam delivery device on KAMAZ-53228 chassis (6x6) is meant for delivery of water or mechanical foam in tanks with a volume up to 20 thousand cubic meters at process installations of the oil, oil-refining, petrochemical industry with a height up to 60m, and also in industrial and residential buildings and structures.
High-technology AL-52 aerial ladder (130VR) on KAMAZ-65201 chassis (8x4) is intended for transportation of firemen to places of fire-fighting and rescue of people from high-rise buildings. A video camera is mounted on a fire-fighting monitor for visual control of ladder movements and fire extinguishing. The ladder is equipped with a hydraulic automatic alignment system enabling to place the ladder horizontally for 30 seconds.
The models exhibited in Kazan are an integral set of fire-prevention equipment on different KAMAZ chassis which, in point of fact, answers firefighters’ all requirements.

Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ has visited Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat as a member of Tatarstan’s delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan’s President.
Tatarstan’s delegation included Cabinet Ministers and general directors of Tatarstan’s largest enterprises. Development of cooperation with Turkmenistan was always of priority importance for KAMAZ’s foreign-economic activity. Since the time when independence was declared and especially for the last 4 years the brotherly country has turned into one of the largest consumers of automobile equipment bearing the trademark of KAMAZ. The company has the widest line of production models and special equipment for all economic sectors and is ready to satisfy its users’ almost all requirements.
To date Turkmenistan’s fleet of KAMAZ vehicles numbers about 8 thousand units. KAMAZ became a dominating supplier of trucks, and Turkmenistan became the best exporter of KAMAZ’s production in 2009. At the height of the global economic crisis the fraternal country was KAMAZ’s only importer which managed to maintain the level of purchases of the year 2008.
In 2007-2010 KAMAZ realized over 4500 units of equipment in Turkmenistan, including a whole number of dumpers, heavy and all-wheel drive vehicles, and also the whole gamut of special equipment on KAMAZ chassis. The customers of KAMAZ’s production are the ministries of the country’s oil-and-gas complex, the ministry of defence, the ministry of motor transport, etc. The average kilometrage of the new vehicles has already formed 200 thousand km (about 124,274 miles). The coefficient of operation of the trucks makes 0.9 which indicates high reliability of KAMAZ equipment under hard usage conditions in deserts and mountains.
In response to large-scale investment projects and high dynamics of development of the country’s basic economic sectors, considering Turkmenistan’s potential demand for trucks, KAMAZ offers consumers the whole range of trucks, high level of service and efficient parts supply investing development of its commodity distribution and service network in Turkmenistan.
In 2006 ZAO Foreign-Trade Company KAMAZ opened its representative office in Ashgabat – KAMAZ FTC Corp. In July 2007 Training and Service Center KAMAZ was put into operation. Volume of investment in its construction made up 8 billion US dollars. The center is fitted out with modern equipment and intended for maintenance of 1000 vehicles a year. 150 people work there. The Turkmen specialists were trained at the center to operate special equipment produced by the main Russian plants. Besides, the Turkmen drivers operating KAMAZ vehicles with Cummins engines and ZF gearboxes were trained there, and also at KAMAZ’s production base in Naberezhnye Chelny. A spare parts store was established on the territory of Training and Service Center KAMAZ in Ashgabat. There are service centers in Balkanabat, Mary, Daşoguz, and Turkmenabat as well.
OJSC KAMAZ makes its contribution to training of technicians for Turkmenistan in other industries too. Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ congratulated the Vietnamese partners upon the fiftieth anniversary of the plant on the basis of which the assembly of KAMAZ vehicles – Vinacomin Motor Industry Joint Stock Company (VMIC) – was later established.
Vietnam was always one of strategically important and priority foreign markets for KAMAZ. This country is still the basis for development of KAMAZ’s external economic relation and business in the entire Asia-Pacific region. The representative office of ZAO Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ works in Hanoi. In 2003 Vinacomin State Corporation became OJSC KAMAZ’s partner in Vietnam. The assembly of KAMAZ vehicles – VMIC – was established in Cam Pha, Quang Ninh Province. In 2008 OJSC KAMAZ increased its share in the JV from 12.5% to 36%. KAMAZ Sums Up July Results
In July 2010 KAMAZ’s production and sales services overfulfilled their plans for output of the basic products.
Within a month 4176 vehicle sets were made. This is a peak output for 2010. Since the beginning of the year 20253 vehicle sets have been produced which is half as much again as for 7 months of 2009.
All productions of KAMAZ worked hard because the company’s employees planned to go on annual leave in August. It was necessary to create a monthly backlog of the basic commercial trucks and chassis for special equipment manufacturing, and the employees had to work even on Saturdays on two lines of the mother assembly conveyor.
As a result, the production plans of the company’s main plants were overfulfilled at all points, and the stock of vehicles and chassis of the required quantity and models was created in storehouses of Trade and Finance Company and Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ.
This year KAMAZ-Diesel produced and delivered to its customers almost 24 thousand engines and power units – by 43% more than for the same period of last year. KAMAZ’s customers will receive spare parts manufactured for the first 7 months of the year to the tune of 5 billion 452 million roubles – this is one third as much as last year’s performance in comparable prices.
