Vietnam was always one of strategically important and priority foreign markets for KAMAZ. This country is still the basis for development of KAMAZ’s external economic relation and business in the entire Asia-Pacific region. The representative office of ZAO Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ works in Hanoi. In 2003 Vinacomin State Corporation became OJSC KAMAZ’s partner in Vietnam. The assembly of KAMAZ vehicles – VMIC – was established in Cam Pha, Quang Ninh Province. In 2008 OJSC KAMAZ increased its share in the JV from 12.5% to 36%. In 2009 KAMVIA trade and service company was established.
The production facilities, buildings, shops of the plant were projected and constructed by the former USSR. To date the production capacities additionally use new technologies imported from Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Finland, Great Britain. Two assembly conveyors can annually produce up to 1500 vehicles with payload of 13 – 30 tonnes. Production of details and spare parts for assembled vehicles is being localized. VMIC operates according to ISO 9001-2000 standards. Its products conform to the requirements of Vietnam’s regulations and international standards.

KAMAZ Sums Up July Results
In July 2010 KAMAZ’s production and sales services overfulfilled their plans for output of the basic products.
Within a month 4176 vehicle sets were made. This is a peak output for 2010. Since the beginning of the year 20253 vehicle sets have been produced which is half as much again as for 7 months of 2009.
All productions of KAMAZ worked hard because the company’s employees planned to go on annual leave in August. It was necessary to create a monthly backlog of the basic commercial trucks and chassis for special equipment manufacturing, and the employees had to work even on Saturdays on two lines of the mother assembly conveyor.
As a result, the production plans of the company’s main plants were overfulfilled at all points, and the stock of vehicles and chassis of the required quantity and models was created in storehouses of Trade and Finance Company and Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ.
This year KAMAZ-Diesel produced and delivered to its customers almost 24 thousand engines and power units – by 43% more than for the same period of last year. KAMAZ’s customers will receive spare parts manufactured for the first 7 months of the year to the tune of 5 billion 452 million roubles – this is one third as much as last year’s performance in comparable prices.
