KAMAZ Revives Market

By the end of September 2010, KAMAZ has fulfilled the plan for vehicle sets production 100%.

The units of a single technological cycle hit the ground running: 3,631 vehicle sets, including 3,348 trucks, were made in the first working month after the personnel’s corporate leave. The month’s plan for vehicle sets production is 100% fulfilled. In all, 23,910 units have been produced since the beginning of the year, as many as for the whole year of 2009. Besides, spare parts were produced to the tune of 506.5 million roubles in September – by 37 million more than it had been planned, even though the plan had been increased in view of customers’ needs. KAMAZ-Diesel produced and shipped its customers 4,203 engines and power units (+242 units in addition to those planned) in September. Over 28.2 thousand units were manufactured for three quarters.

Dealers, service centers, corporate and other customers of KAMAZ received spare parts for the sum of more than 7.1 billion roubles this year, including products for 937 million roubles during the past month.

Even briefly surveying production of various vehicle families and models, one can see the signs of a market revival and a growth of demand for KAMAZ vehicles. Thus, an “anti-crisis” line of modernized vehicles (KAMAZ-65115, -65116, -65117, -65111) which assumed the leadership just during the past downswing holds its positions to date, too. Over 1,200 units of these models were produced in September – by 9% more than in July before the leave. However, production of higher capacity vehicles (about ten models on the basis of KAMAZ-6520) considerably increased during this period of time. Almost 500 units of these heavy vehicles, which, as a rule, create market trends and influence the company’s financial-and-economic performance, were produced in September – by 15% more than in July. Output of all-wheel-drive vehicles (KAMAZ-43118, -43114, etc.) in the month under review also proves that customers’ demand for KAMAZ’s main products is growing.

We Pay Respect to Elderly People…

The International Day of Older Persons will be celebrated on Friday.

Concern for elderly people has always been an inseparable part of KAMAZ’s social policy. To date, more than 6,700 pensioners work at the automobile plant. The number of non-working pensioners – our former employees – is over 22.5 thousand people. According to the Social Package of OJSC KAMAZ, they are given 11.3 million roubles in 2010 as a targeted social assistance. Veterans’ council functions actively.

It should be noted that the pensioners of KAMAZ live an eventful life. Many of them attend courses of computer literacy at the third generation university. Design and psychology are the most popular courses of the university. Pensioners create their clubs, celebrate holidays and organize competitions at plants. They don’t miss the city’s events either. A recent triumph at the contest “Supergrandma-2010” witnesses to this fact.

At their own expense, subdivisions and companies of OJSC KAMAZ organize charitable events for pensioners – they conduct amateur concerts, tea parties, red carpet meetings with the city’s authorities, organize trips to recreation centers, and present sanatorium vouchers.

KAMAZ on Tatami Again

Today, a traditional judo youth championship – the 24th tournament for KAMAZ’s prizes and the 18th team meeting of judoists “All Stars of Tatarstan” is held in Naberezhnye Chelny’s Olympiysky sports complex.

Year in, year out, these tournaments are organized at the end of September or at the beginning of October in honour of a professional holiday – the Machine Builder’s Day; and OJSC KAMAZ is their main sponsor. The first such meeting on a tatami of the Olimpiysky sports complex was held as far back as 1977, but, in the 90-ies, the tradition was interrupted for the whole ten years (from 1992 to 2001). Tournaments were recommenced in 2002 on the initiative of Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ – in the first year after he had been appointed to this position. Sergey Kogoghin is the USSR Master of Sports in Judo and Sambo, and in the 80-ies he was a member of Tatarstan’s team.

As before, the current tournaments gathered many talented sportsmen aged 14-16: 110 judoists arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny from Izhevsk, Magnitogorsk, Sterlitamak, Tuymazy, Chelyabinsk, Uralsk (Kazakhstan), and also – Tatarstan’s cities and regional centers where this kind of the Eastern martial art is cultivated.

All day long, the Japanese words very well known to all judo-lovers are heard in the main sports hall of the Olimpiysky complex.

The tournaments will be closed with a face-off meeting of Tatarstan’s judo stars tomorrow.
