KAMAZ Stimulates Sales Through Dealer Network

Closely cooperating with dealers, the management of KAMAZ sales department improves the sales system of OJSC KAMAZ.
According to the managers of KAMAZ FINANCE AND TRADING COMPANY (KAMAZ F&T CO Inc.), this cooperation was one of the key reasons for last year’s successful activity of the company. In 2011, KAMAZ sold 39 thousand trucks on the domestic market. Nevertheless, the company had to pass a long way which led to this success: the managers of the company and the sales department were diversifying risks systematically and purposefully during 2009-2010.
Improving the sales system, the company also developed the so-called "ideal location of entities of the dealer and service network". The quality of the dealers’ financial activity is one of the main criteria to which KAMAZ specialists pay attention. The service center requires expensive equipment in order to ensure high quality of repair and maintenance of KAMAZ vehicles which are becoming even more and more complicated technically.
Read the full text »According to experts’ estimates, the minimum cost of such equipment is more than four million rubles. The upkeep of trained specialists also requires certain expenses. Mobile teams of electronic engineers, programmers with laptops work in the service network of OJSC KAMAZ. Such a system helps clients to avoid unnecessary problems with transportation of vehicles and solve many problems in electronic modules on-site. Specialists of KAMAZ’s Research and Development Center actively cooperate with the sales department laying the foundation for the production of Euro 4 vehicles. This purpose will be achieved due to the program of step-by-step re-equipment of service centers.
The introduction of new standards and requirements which had been developed for more than one and a half years is quite a tough but necessary measure. From this year onward, the bonus stimulation system will allow the dealers to make not just one or two percent from sales of each vehicle, but four or five percent.
An all-wheel drive KAMAZ-43118 vehicle was last year’s bestseller. According to the experts of KAMAZ F&T CO Inc., it is KAMAZ’s achievement in the competition on the market. Another great achievement is customers’ high demand for a light duty two-axle KAMAZ-43252 vehicle to which manufacturers of special equipment started showing preference.
KAMAZ has every reason to hope for the same achievements in 2012. Despite the uncertain market situation and the threat of a new crisis, the company has got enough orders to execute in the first quarter of the year keeping the maximum production rate.

CNG KAMAZ Vehicles for Siberians
Sibir Industrial and Ñonstruction Concern (Novosibirsk) bought ten KAMAZ trucks running on methane.
New KAMAZ trucks will be used for transportation of sand and crushed stone. According to Dmitry Chervov, Director General of Sibir-razvitiye (a member of Sibir Concern), the company used different combined gas-diesel engines, but then came to the conclusion that it is more profitable to use KAMAZ trucks powered with serial gas engines running on pure methane. Their operation enables to save much on the cost of cargo transportation.
Despite the fact that NGVs are a little more expensive than diesel trucks, they are repaid more quickly. Methane is the only type of motor fuel the price of which has been controlled by law since 1993. It costs much less than diesel fuel, and a cubic meter of methane is equivalent to a liter of diesel fuel. To add to this, KAMAZ gas engines are subject to three times less wear than diesel engines before requiring an overhaul.
Taking into account these and other undeniable advantages, the management of the concern decided to purchase another batch of heavy-duty gas-powered KAMAZ trucks intended for urban operation in the near future.
